'Party in the U.S.A' for First Tweens


It may be a school night, but the First Tweens are staying up late. Michelle Obama took her daughters to a Miley Cyrus concert at the Verizon Center this evening. It’s not the first time Malia and Sasha have seen the teen queen, whose hit "Party in the U.S.A." reached number one on the Billboard Pop 100 chart last Friday. On Inauguration Day, the girls and the First Lady attended the Kids Ball, where Miley Cyrus performed.

Obama Will Not Travel to Germany for 20th Anniversary of Fall of Berlin Wall


President Obama will not travel to Germany to mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9. White House Spokesman Robert Gibbs said today that President Obama’s schedule will not allow for a visit to Germany.

President Obama to Push Race to the Top


Tomorrow, on the anniversary of his election, President Barack Obama heads to Madison, Wisconsin to speak at a local middle school. He’ll address education policy, with a focus on the ‘Race to the Top’ initiative. That $4.35 billion dollar program, funded through the Recovery Act, is a national competition among the states, to inspire education reform.
